The Natural Sources Of Vitamins Identified

For our body to function properly, we need to consume certain nutrients. These nutrients help us stay healthy and physically fit. These nutrients include minerals, vitamins, etc. The importance of these nutrients cannot be stressed enough as they help our body function.

Vitamins are referred to as organic compounds that usually come in the form of food. They are usually in the form of food as the body cannot produce them or produces a very little amount hence they have to be taken from outside through food to fulfill the nutritional needs of the body. They are mainly consumed for the body to grow and develop normally. Vitamins are so essential that there are 13 different types of vitamins our body needs. Some of these include

  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin B
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin K

All these vitamins are equally important to consume as they play a specific role in the development of the body. If any of the Vitamins are at a low level then one might be at risk of suffering from various health conditions. For example deficiency in Vitamin A leads to night blindness or if one doesn’t have enough Vitamin C then they might be subjected to anemia. Therefore it is very important to maintain a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle to prevent one from suffering various nutritional deficiencies.

Although there have been many artificial vitamin sources created for the body to cope with the loss it is always better if one follows a natural path. So therefore the natural sources of vitamins include –

1. Fish:

It is regarded as the most nutritious based food for the body to cope with the lost nutrients. The fish include omega 3 fatty acids, B2, and Vitamin D & are extremely high in minerals like calcium, iodine, iron, potassium, etc.

2. Mushrooms:

Not many know this but mushrooms have high nutritional value. This is because they are exposed to sunlight which means they are rich in Vitamin D as well as other components like potassium, magnesium, zinc, and various components of B Vitamins.

3. Nuts and Seeds:

Another natural source that boosts one’s vitamins is nuts and seeds. They are extremely rich in minerals like potassium, zinc, iron, magnesium, and copper while all the while being rich in Vitamin B, E, and B6.

4. Fruits:

It is common knowledge that fruits are one of the most nutrition-dense foods available. So it comes as no surprise when different types of fruits tend to be a natural source of increasing the vitamin content in the body. While different types of fruits may vary in composition almost all of them are rich in Vitamin C, Potassium, and Folate.

5. Dark Leafy Vegetables:

Another obvious source of increasing the Vitamin Value in the body is dark leafy vegetables. These leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, etc are high in vitamin C, Vitamin K, and Vitamin B while also including minerals like Iron and Calcium.

So therefore these were the natural sources of Vitamins that are identified that are nutritionally dense and beneficial to the health of the body.
