For our body to function properly, we need to consume certain nutrients. These nutrients help us stay healthy and physically fit. These nutrients include minerals, vitamins, etc. The importance of these nutrients cannot be stressed enough as they help our body function.
Vitamins are referred to as organic compounds that usually come in the form of food. They are usually in the form of food as the body cannot produce them or produces a very little amount hence they have to be taken from outside through food to fulfill the nutritional needs of the body. They are mainly consumed for the body to grow and develop normally. Vitamins are so essential that there are 13 different types of vitamins our body needs. Some of these include
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin B
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D
- Vitamin E
- Vitamin K
All these vitamins are equally important to consume as they play a specific role in the development of the body. If any of the Vitamins are at a low level then one might be at risk of suffering from various health conditions. For example deficiency in Vitamin A leads to night blindness or if one doesn’t have enough Vitamin C then they might be subjected to anemia.
